What was Vatican II?
Catholics today hear a lot of talk about Vatican II, but many of us don't really know much about it. This short course will give you a very basic introduction into what the Second Vatican Council was, including when it was hosted, why it was called, and the documents it produced.
We also include a bonus discussion about some of the events in the aftermath of the council.
Course Goals
This course is designed to give an overview and introduction to the Second Vatican Council, as well as to consider some of the follow-up to the council in the decades since the 1960s.
Students who wish to focus more on specific documents should see the other courses we offer below, which examine the four major constitutions in greater depth.
